GIS Analyst

**Work for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers**

 

Job Description:

 

Contractor shall perform routine and complex geospatial work as a GIS Analyst.  The candidate would work in a team environment producing maps, inputting data into master eGIS systems, and performing vector-and raster-based analysis.  The GIS functions would be primarily related to military, civil works, and environmental projects.  The candidate will need a minimum of three years of professional GIS experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in

Geography/GIS/Cartography/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.

 

Skills:Advanced working knowledge of ESRI mapping products, especially ArcGIS and its geodatabase functionality;Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation CADD products;Familiarity with Leica’s ERDAS Imagine software;Advanced experience using the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE);Advanced experience authoring Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) compliant metadata;Experience writing provisions, specifications, and estimates for surveying, photogrammetry, LIDAR, and/or GIS scopes of work;Familiarly with developing GIS web-enabled solutions using ArcIMS;Familiarity with Oracle and relational database design;Willingness to work in a interoperable CADD/GIS environment where both software and storage formats are put to use in dual platforms;Must have good communications skills, both oral and written, to interface with managers, engineers, and other personnel.
