We are currently seeking a talented Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist with a business mind and cone penetrometer/drilling experience to manage and grow our CPT operations across the US. The position will be based in the Houston, TX area but 50%-80% travel will likely be required to support existing clients and to develop new clients.     As the successful candidate for this position, you will lead a group of technicians in cone penetrometer operations, will develop business with new and existing customers, will serve as the primary customer interface, will recruit and hire new employees, and will manage project financials, progress, and quality. In addition to the leadership/management responsibilities, you will also participate in and lead field operations, prepare project reports, and write proposals. You will be supported by technicians in the field as well as engineers and administrators in the home office. Job Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geology 7+ years experience in drilling operations (especially CPT operations) 3+ years experience in leading projects 2+ years experience in handling project financials Driven, results-oriented attitude Ability to work independently as well as part of a team The CPT operations center is a branch of ARA’s New England Division located in Randolph, VT. Our focus is in the areas of geotechnical research, geophysical sensors development, rock testing, robotics, and software. We see CPT operations as a critical area and have been conducting CPT services for over  25 years. We have a long established list of customers and are looking to grow this business area. We are looking for a technically capable engineer/scientist with a sharp business mind and an entrepreneurial spirit.
