OVERVIEW FOR UPSTREAM FACILITIES ENGINEERING AT CHEVRON:We are currently looking for facilities engineers to: •Provide technical support in the development of designs for new facilities.•Optimize processes & operations at existing facilities.•Manage all aspects of construction projects, such as the installation of oil, gas and water production, separation and injection facilities.Our engineers work with tanks, vessels, compressors, pumps, piping, power distribution and computer controls. This support may include early concept development, contracting strategy, reliability, pipelines, materials & corrosion, electric power, civil/structural, fixed and rotating mechanical equipment, and instrumentation & controls.•Responsibilities may include developing conceptual estimates including risk estimates and schedules, project economics, QA/QC, contractor supervision and start-up.•Collaborate and network with peers and mentor those with less expertise in the Operating Companies.NOTE: Resumes submitted in response to this job opening may be reviewed and processed for Chevron by independent service partners.Required (Basic) Qualifications•Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering.•Minimum 2 years experience required in upstream facilities engineering. •Ability to advise operations, maintenance and facility management on design of oil and gas facilities, electrical and instrumentation systems, oil field development projects, or operation improvement projects.•Ability to manage capital projects using a structured method to achieve optimum investment decisions, as well as manage the work practices fundamental in achieving the efficient and successful delivery of projects.•Demonstrates highest safety & environmental performance and leadership traits must be proactive in addressing safety issues and have a proven track record of strong support of processes that support Incident Free Operations. Demonstrate support of management objectives and be a change champion. Have a good understanding of safe design & operating principles.•Ability to work effectively (minimal supervision) in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment. History of success working with complex processes and organizations to ensure project resources (material, equipment, and resources) are secured efficiently. Employ organizational skills, managing diverse workload for multiple customers. •Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to effectively communicate with management, customers and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them. •Ability to effectively manage or actively support the work team in a diverse, multidisciplinary group. Ability to maintain positive relationships with peers, contractors, supervisors, and customers.•Demonstrated project management skills.
