Weston Solutions, Inc. (WESTON®), a leading infrastructure redevelopment services firm, has an exceptional opportunity in our Norcross office for an Estimator 2.Prepare and complete order of magnitude, conceptual, budget, preliminary engineering and detailed cost estimates for projects.The Estimator II (Estimator) shall perform estimating based on assignments provided by the Lead Estimator such as assisting in the preparation of Rough Order of Magnitude Estimates, Semi-Detailed Estimates, and Detailed Estimates. The Estimator shall use assignments and working relationships with Sr. and Lead Estimators as opportunities to advance his or her breadth and depth of estimating skills. The Estimator shall perform assignments in accordance with the Basic Canons of the American Society of Professional Estimators. The Estimator shall use the department’s standards and guidelines to prepare 0% design, concep-tual, Rough Order of Magnitude Estimates; 35% to 65% design Semi-Detailed Estimates; 90%+ design Detailed Estimates; and Basis of Estimate documentation. Perform quantity take-off of engineered drawings.The Estimator shall possess a basic understanding of scope of work statements, specifications, drawings, and other direct and indirect cost and prepare the WBS format. Assist with site walks, comply with Weston safety procedures, and prepare estimating reports. Develop knowledge about the aspects of multiple trades, trade scope, labor hours; and labor, ma-terial, and construction equipment pricing. Assist with validation of local market pricing and calculations of contingency, and cost escalation. Assist with the preparation of Estimate RFIs, design to budget validations, value engineering, preparing subcontract bid tabs, resolving scope gaps, and preparing the final bid when requested by the Lead or Sr. Estimator. Uses personal attributes that include self-starter, high motivation, collaborative assertB.S. plus 8 years or equivalent, C.E., or M.E., desirable, but not required or equivalent experience. Certifications Required - P.E. not necessary but desirable. Certified Cost Engineer or Certified Construction Estimator, not necessary but desirable. Construction estimating with necessary construction experience. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and structures. Additional experience should include drafting, design and contract administration. Skill Requirements - Self starter, a highly motivated and aggressive individual, good communication skills (oral and written), knowledge of mathematics, knowledge of construction materials and methods.The Estimator shall possess basic skills in the CSA, MEP, or Environment Remediation disci-plines and knowledge of construction materials and methods, mechanical, electrical systems, and structures. Estimating Data, References, and Benchmarks – The Estimator shall develop a working knowl-edge of R.S. Means, Richardsons, MCAA, NECA, ASHRAE, other external benchmarks and / or internal benchmarks as directed by the Supervisor.Estimating Format – The Estimator shall possess a working of the Department’s standard format for preparing and reviewing the Estimate.
