Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 6 years directly related work experience OR a Master's Degree in a related field and 4 years directly related work experience OR a Ph.D. and 2 years directly related work experience OR 14 years equivalent specialized training and directly related work experience.In addition, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, with emphasis on hazardous waste treatment, storage, transportation, and disposal regulations; be capable of working independently, using judgment and discretion to make decisions which may impact facility operations and compliance; and demonstrate the ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives. Job Description : SUMMARY:Duties require that the incumbent function as the primary environmental resource for CAMDS closure operations. Duties in this area are critical to ensuring that the CAMDS facility remain in compliance with established environmental requirements and therefore, require that the tasks and duties be completed with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. Supports the Environmental/Compliance Department by performing a combination of related tasks to ensure all operational activities for CAMDS closure operations are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental acts, regulations, laws, and rulings. Responsible for tracking and trending of compliance data and developing inspection and surveillance plans and schedules. Responsible for developing information to support communication of compliance goals and metrics to the site population. 1. Function as the primary environmental resource for operations, maintenance, and other plant personnel2. Performs a combination of duties necessary to support environmental compliance for all areas of the CAMDS to include exclusion areas. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:- Conducting environmental inspections of all areas of the facility to include maintenance, operations, warehouses, and hazardous waste storage areas.- Plan, develop and schedule internal environmental assessments and write assessment reports- Tracking and trending of compliance data.- Develop written guidance and training materials to ensure workforce understands and follows regulatory compliance.- Provide informal toolbox training to plant personnel to ensure workforce understands and follows regulatory compliance.- Developing information to support communication of compliance goals and metrics.- Primary interface between TOCDF Environmental Compliance and DSHW representatives.3. Attending all critical activity meetings and providing environmental input to the decision-making process. Approving or disapproving activity based on environmental considerations.4. Acts as the Environmental Officer in declared emergency situations. 5. Review applicable procedures and support validations for CAMDS environmental and regulatory requirements, signature designee for the Environmental Manger for these procedures6. Assists with tracking, resolution and notification of environmental non-compliances.7. Support the Maintenance Work Planning Group for CAMDS activities. Requires working knowledge of the environmental regulatory requirements. 8. Track and verify implementation of regulatory changed.9. Supports the TOCDF safety culture by performing all duties in accordance with the below listed safety responsibilities and enforcing a safe work environment.10.
