General Summary: 

 

The Project Engineer is a mid or standard level position possessing a degree in engineering or State Registration.  The Project Engineer is responsible for directing the team engineers and designers performing engineering designs associated with land development civil engineering.  This position has supervisory training and instructional authority over design efforts of the project team.  Project Engineers also assist in management of technical engineering aspects of the project, including contacts with approving agencies, clients, and other project team members.

 Responsible for directing work to team engineers and designers in the preparation of civil engineering designsAssist with storm water management design, storm drain design, paving design, and water and sewage designGeneral site planningFlood plain studiesFeasibility studiesProficient in MicrostationConsulting with & updating clients on their projectsAttending client meetingsUnderstand Local, State, and Federal regulations concerning land developmentMust have valid driver’s license

 

Physical Requirements:

 Being seated for up to 8 hours a day.Use of stomach and lower back muscles to support the body while sitting.Communicate verbally by phone, email and in person.Listening skills required in person and via telephone.Movement repetition; such as drawing.

 

Decision Making/Authority:

 

The Project Engineer completes tasks as assigned by the immediate Project Manager and other management staff. The Project Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager but may receive direction from the Assistant Project Manager or from other management staff.

Education/Certification:

 

Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.  Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification a plus.

 

 

Experience:

 

3-5 years experience in civil engineering land development, with an emphasis on storm water management design, storm drain design, and water and sewer design.
