The Technical Writer will work as a team member on product development or other projects to bring clarity and consistency to documents through accurate and concise writing and effective use of document format. In summary, the technical writer will write, revise, organize, plan, summarize, edit and proofread technical engineering documents and maintain project records. During the interview process, the Technical Writer will be examined on his/her technical writing abilities in order to prequalify.

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:Create documents based on pertinent engineering drawings, technical information, consultations with the engineering dept. and other available sources.Communicating efficiently with engineering dept. by asking relevant technical questions to illustrate the documents with information. Minimal impact on engineering dept. is expected due to your technical knowledge;Researches, writes, illustrates and produces a variety of technical documents using product specifications and other source documents;Clearly and correctly state and summarize project information and project activities;Interface cross-functionally within the product development team to acquire source material for documents and to develop an understanding of the products and processes;Organize and place raw data into usable tables.Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Technical Communication, Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience;Must have 5-7 years of engineering technical writing experience;Must be able to technically interact with team members to gather, compile and document required information;Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio;Must have attention to detail;Must have the ability to keep track of document and project details;Must be able to work efficiently on documents and tasks while still maintain high quality in work;Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment;Must have an aptitude to understand engineering and other technical information;Problem solving skills and an ability to respond and adapt to change.
