Engineer, Manufacturing
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and develop assembly processes, work instructions, fixtures, tooling, and routings
Create, maintain and optimize value stream maps for product flows
Apply lean/flow and cellular manufacturing concepts to improve productivity, increase throughput, reduce set up times, error proof processes and ensure product quality
Participate in product development teams and design reviews applying DFMA principles to optimize design to ensure cost-effective manufacture
Implement capital projects within budget and schedule
Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Requirements, Skills and Capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field or equivalent technical knowledge and experience
Minimum 5 years related experience, with experience in natural gas industry and measurement and pressure relief equipment preferred
Knowledge and experience in implementation of lean concepts including 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Mixed Model Flow, JIT and 6 Sigma, preferred
Strong PC and software skills in CAD, and Excel
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS 9100 Quality systems
Must be willing to be hands on and work with the shop floor
Strong knowledge of tooling systems and fixture design
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams to reduce cycle time and launch new products
Ability to read, interpret and analyze engineering prints and technical instructions
Ability to systematically define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to complete manufacturing engineering assignments within budget and schedule constraints
Strong knowledge of work measurement and methods analysis
Strong communication and technical skills and a good understanding of manufacturing processes
