Engine Performance Analyst

Belcan, Inc. is looking to expand our Peoria, IL Advanced Engineering Technology Division!  We have an immediate need for an Engine Performance Analyst.

 

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

· The Performance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and exhaust emissions characteristics on diesel engines for on-highway truck, construction equipment and other non-road applications. This includes identifying electronic engine control maps and strategies, specifying turbocharger, fuel system and air system requirements, analyzing engine performance and emissions data, as well as specifying engine design parameters.

· Performance engineers’ responsibilities include analyzing data in order to optimize performance while maintaining emissions compliance.  This requires engineers to select and optimize engine hardware configurations, develop performance control maps in order to attain the desired performance targets.

· This position requires a high level of technical expertise in diesel engines.

· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

· 3-5 years of diesel engine experience.

· The candidate should have demonstrated skills in analysis, detailed data manipulation, determination of underlying system relationships and the appropriate selection and use of analysis tools. 

· This person must be a self-starter and have strong customer focus, technical problem solving communication and project management skills.
