Electronics Engineering SupervisorDepartment:   Engineering Requisition number:  08-201Location:  Davis, CA.Reports to:  Electrical Engineering ManagerTravel Required:  Typically less than ten percent annually The electronics engineering supervisor’s key responsibilities are to direct and guide the technical activities responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. In addition, evaluate final results of development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives.  The electronic engineering supervisor also prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of technical projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results. Qualifications:·  BS degree in electrical engineering.·  Five (5) or more years of professional experience in the following areas:  Embedded firmware development, designing engineering software tools for schematic capture and PC board layout software.·  Direct design experience with at least one of these areas: communication, data acquisition, or motion control.·  The ability to effectively organize work functions and staff assignments and review the work and performance of subordinates in a manner conducive to proficient performance and high morale.·  Five (5) or more years of direct experience working with PCB fabrication and assembly houses in taking PCB designs from prototype to production.·  Strong team leader, builder, and motivator.·  Demonstrates a track record of timely completing engineering service projects. Preferred Qualifications:·  Fiber optics experience.·  Experience designing systems for harsh industrial or offshore environments. ·  Management experience in systems engineering and requirements.·  Experience with embedded firmware development.·  Experience directing outsourced designers.
