Our client is involved with the design, manufacture, distribution and service of engines including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems. Our client serves customers in more than 150 countries and has a network of more than 5000 dealer locations worldwide. As an Electronics Diagnostics/Controls Engineer you will be working in a fast paced environment providing diagnostic algorithms, electronic service tool development, and functional excellence for current and next generation vessel Prop to Helm electronic service system functions. In this position you will:-Work with Advanced Engineering and functional development groups to develop diagnostic concepts and procedures. -Lead selection of common diagnostic algorithm design approaches supporting repair event cycle time reduction initiatives.-Develop system and component calibration procedures using Six Sigma principles.-Develop standard practices for validating diagnostic algorithms.-Develop plans for vessel validation of diagnostics systems.-Lead development and publication of system diagnostic test and validation reports.-Monitor progress of field test vessels and support diagnostic troubleshooting activities.-Ensure required demonstration and evaluation tests are performed for assigned projects.-Create and maintain electronic system diagnostic troubleshooting trees.-Support field investigation for complex electronic / controls system related issues.Client offers a competitive compensation package and relocation assistance. Requirements: Required:BS in Electrical Engineering (MS desired).2+ years experience with engine control systems and algorithms.Strong understanding of vessel control systems and algorithms.MATLAB/SIMULINK algorithm development experience.Excellent communication skillsDesired:Engineering tools (CALTERM / Mototune / CyberBench) Controls test experience desired.Familiarity with requirements analysis and systems engineering tools desired.Six Sigma (DFSS or DMAIC) tools, specifically Design of Experiments Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.Fault tree analysis.
