Electro Mechanical Engineer III

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the design and manufacture of custom ink jet printheads. Project leadership position requiring cross functional team management skills and ability to meet stringent technical design standards and documentation requirements. Provides mechanical/electrical design engineering direction to new product development.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Engineer the design and manufacture of custom ink jet printheads to new specifications Oversee mechanical design (cad drawings, engineering analysis, and test plans) in the development of custom products Participate in the product development cycle: market requirements, verification testing, and specifications Responsible for the quality of products released to the field Responsible for revision control, field upgrades, and compatibility requirements Specify, design, analyze and test Analog and Digital Electronics Circuits for Ink Jet printing applications Review system level specifications for critical design characteristics Create a printed circuit board design that conforms to the design characteristic Analyze and simulate the performance of the design for the application Coordinate the layout, assembly and testing of the prototype assemblies Occasional travel SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   REQUIRED: BSEE or BSME degree or equivalent years of related experience, and six or more years of experience Demonstrated success in bringing products through the design cycle. This should include: generation of design, prototyping, debug, manufacture, technical support, maintenance, and upgrades Knowledgeable in areas related to printing and print systems, including mechanical transport and fluid handling systems, electronic packaging, enclosures, and regulatory requirements Strong analytical and synthesis abilities Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity 3D CAD experience, SolidWorks or equivalent 3d modeling system Experience with analog and digital circuit design Familiar with printed circuit board fabrication and assembly processes Ability to work across several functional departments Ability to participate, lead or mentor in a team environment DESIRED: Experience in manufacturing or clean room protocol Inkjet experience Clean Room Experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
