Electrical Engineer - Project Engineer/Project Manager
The Tetra Tech Infrastructure Services Group, which offers a wide range of services to its clients including specialization in water/wastewater, transportation, and site development construction management, has an immediate and exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join us in our Irvine location. Scope of this position will be to provide electrical engineering services for facilities, buildings, and properties for our public clients. Engineer will be responsible for developing project specifications and plans for water and wastewater projects. Understanding of motor control centers, switchboards, pad mounted transformers, conduits, wiring, and grounding requirements per NEC, as well as sizing circuit breaker protective devices and voltage drop calculations required. Coordination of new electrical services with electrical utilities, assistance with developing plan drawings for indoor/outdoor lighting projects, including photometric analysis will be an integral part of the responsibilities. The Electrical Engineer will have project management, capital and expense project leadership responsibility and will have responsibility for providing work direction and mentoring to junior engineers. Client contact will be an essential part of this position's responsibilities. Experience Requirements: Seeking candidates with 10+ years experience in design of electrical distribution, instrumentation, and other industrial electrical system design. In addition, must have technical knowledge of preparation bid documents, estimates, CSI specifications, and the ability to work with multi?disciplinary teams. Familiarity with water and wastewater pumping and piping systems design, NEC code requirements and PID diagrams preferred. Project Management or Leadership experience is desired. More junior candidates may be considered if the experience demonstrates clear mastery of desired skills. Skills Requirements: The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with others and good computer skills. Experience with Excel, Word and AutoCad software required. Education Requirements: A BS in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer’s License (Registered P.E.) in California State or ability to obtain in short period of time is required.
