DescriptionGeneral Summary: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all electrical aspects of the embedded circuit design for specific products designated by the Director of Engineering. The Electrical Engineer is a vital part of the design team responsible for the electrical design from inception to end of life. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is an essential part of the development process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design new products and systems. Improve design of existing products resulting in increased quality, lower cost, higher performance, and ease of manufacture. Responsible for all aspects of electrical design for designated products. Develop and maintain low bit microcontroller embedded design code for designated products. Assist in creating next generation products. Identify improvements in designs, processes, and practices for designated products. Achieve agency approval for electrical designs when applicable. Required SkillsRequired Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong electrical engineering including low bit microcontroller embedded circuit design. Preferred experience with sensor applications. Proficient with PCs and utilization of electronic media including email, web, circuit analysis, and statistical methods. Creative application of electric design exploring possibilities for new products. Work well in intra-departmental development team atmosphere. Excellent written and verbal communication with good personnel skills. Self motivated engineer striving for successful product and system design. Required ExperienceEducation & Experience: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required. Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering. Experience with low bit microcontroller embedded circuits and programming preferred. Background in sensors and / or sensor systems preferred.
