Description:(Location: Prefer Mayfield Heights/Open Work Location Considered)The primary responsibility of the Technology Center Application Engineer is the development of CSM (Customer Support and Maintanance) technical competencies. The scope of responsibility includes CSM worldwide operations. The Technology Center Application Engineer also provides expert, backup field support for customer applications. The position requires travel both domestically and to global locations.In this position, the Application Engineer develops a high level of technical expertise on new products and technologies being developed by Rockwell Automation Product Divisions. The Application Engineer will participate in functional testing of new products and technologies as a means of developing technical expertise, insuring required product functionality and enhancing overall product quality. The Application Engineer also acts as the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation Product Divisions and the Customer Support and Maintanance Business Unit. Specific responsibilities include the assessment of support requirements; and the planning, creation and delivery of technical competency development programs to address these requirements. Responsibilities encompass both new and existing products and technologies in the area(s) of technological focus.Qualifications:SKILLS REQUIRED:This position requires an individual with strong automation control system technical skills. Solid communication skills (both verbal and written), presentation skills and competency development skills (teaching skills) will also be required. EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One to four years of automation control system engineering experience with a general background in automation products and control system applications. Specific experience on Motion applications is desirable.
