TUV of North America,Incis currently seeking an EMC/Telecom Engineer to help support the Pleasanton, CA office. 

SCOPE OF POSITION

 

The professional engineering staff member shares in the responsibility to further company growth and profitability.  Under general supervision, he/she may supervise the work of technicians and he/she performs tests for certification of equipment to applicable product ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and RF standards and procedures and advises customer of non-compliance..  This position requires specialized knowledge, the ability to work independently, and consistent exercise of discretion and sound judgment.

 

AUTHORITY

 

The incumbent is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the assigned responsibilities, provided that such action is consistent with sound company and cost-effective practices and is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.

 

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

s  Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

s  Testing for various Wireless Technologies including: Bluetooth, Zigbee, 802.11, WiFi, RFID and  Wimax  to R&TTE and FCC.

s  Maintains test facility and equipment as needed, especially for audits and internal quality

s  Review of TCB submittals

s  Devises new approaches to problems

s  Consults with clients, pre-evaluates projects and reviews job cost and duration

s  Expands client base by following marketing leads and offers other TUV Rheinland services to client base

s  Investigates to international standards

s  Prepares for, assists with, performs or supervises laboratory tests

s  Generates and revises test reports and documentation

s  Performs other related duties and assignments as required

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

1.  Education and Training

s  Bachelor Degree in Engineering

s  Basic EMC/Telecom training

s  Good communication, customer relations and projects acquisition skills

2.  Experience / Qualifications

s  minimum 2 years related EMC specific workplace experience
