Director of Finance and Administration

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, Vice President for Information Services and Technology (IS&T), to direct the strategic, financial, and business planning efforts and the administrative support function for IS&T. Will oversee the annual operating budget of $75 million and a capital budget of $15 million distributed across four IT functional areas, including network, telephone, and data center operations; enterprise administrative and student information systems; infrastructure software development and architecture; and client support services. Will also lead a financial team of twelve who provide a full spectrum of budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting, cost and price modeling, and financial accounting services for their assigned functional areas using a client-focused, consultative approach; and a team of seven administrative staff who provide administrative support, site/facilities management, space planning and renovation, and payroll administration services to ~330 staff located in six buildings across campus.

REQUIREMENTS: a master's degree; six to eight years of progressive business experience, at least two of which have been managing a large staff with diverse levels of experience; excellent analytical, financial, communication, and writing skills; advanced knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, financial modeling, and planning; working knowledge of the principles and practices of strategic planning, development, and evaluation; demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with others; good judgment, tact, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters; ability to manage changing and conflicting priorities; and advanced knowledge of spreadsheets. MBA and financial management experience in an IT organization and/or higher education strongly preferred. MIT experience and knowledge of its financial and operational systems highly desirable.
