Director of Engineering and Program Mgrs Plastic/medical

The Company:
Join a successful and growing plastics manufacturing company in Tijuana, Mexico supplying medical devices to global medical markets. We are searching for a Director of Engineering to manager all new products from concept, to design, from tool build to manufacturing. We also seek Program Managers to work with customers to manager new product development from cradle to grave. We are a growing facility with 170 employees working in an excellent environment with clean room facilities. Excellent salary, benefits, bonus program and relocation package.

Responsible:
Dir of Engineering: Organize and direct the activities of the Program Manager function. Hire and train Program Mgrs, Tooling Engs and Project Engs. Manage the cost and contribution margins of programs. Provide backup for all Program Mgrs - cost estimating (tools & piece price), assembly, automation, tool maker vendors, etc. This is a corporate position reporting to headquarters of this billion dollar company.

Program Managers:
Responsible for working with the customer to understand their needs, collaborate on design for manufacturability, quote tool and piece price, manage design, tool build, design reviews, production trials and manufacturing of quality parts. Cradle to grave responsibility.

Requirements:
Willing to live in Tijuana or San Diego.
BS Degree in Engineering or Plastics with ten years of manufacturing experience (injection molding of medical products preferred) required. Knowledge of statistics, SPC, DOE and geometric tolerancing necessary. You will need a solid background in mold design, build and procurement with documented success in Program Management, Spreadsheet, Word Processing and Presentation software. The Director of Engineering will need 10 years of leadership experience with a technical team of 20 engineers.
