Device/Image Sensor Design Engineer

Job Description:In this position, you will play a technical leading role in the development of state-of-the art photo-detector devices and its process for CMOS image products. The candidate will be responsible for image sensor pixel design, simulation and implementation (layout) using available advance CMOS technology. You will work closely with device and process team to provide guideline for process tuning and optimization in order to achieve the best sensor performance. You are also expected to actively drive the sensor process development and provide important technical contribution to continuous sensor and process technologies improvement. Responsibilities: * Take lead role in design advanced image sensor pixel element.

* Conduct research on sensor development to build low dark noise, smaller pitch, high performance CMOS image sensor.

* Provide technical leadership in developing sensor process technology. * Conduct 2D or 3D device simulation to identify issues and provide solutions. * Propose new sensor structure and process flow to improve sensor performance. * Optimize design tradeoffs and guide the sensor development process.

Education Requirement: *MS in Electrical Engineering (in solid state physics or CCD). – Ph.D. preferred Candidate Profile:* 2 - 5 years of device integration and process experience in industry silicon fab environment. * Excellent knowledge of CMOS process and semiconductor device physics. * Good knowledge of CCD and CMOS image sensor design. * Self motivated with good communication skills and positive attitude. * Excellent knowledge, experiences and skills in several of the following areas:

- Design experience on CCD, IR or visible band image sensors.

- Deep understanding on semiconductor device physics, especially on photodetector devices

- Knowledge on CMOS image sensor, photodiode, and pinned PD.

- Hand-on experience on device simulation tools, such as, TCAD Silvaco, COMSOL, Ansoft HFSS, and Sonnet etc.

- Knowledge on optical physics and ray tracing.

- Familiar with CMOS IC process flow and device process.

- Experience on 2D and 3D device simulation.

- Familiar with layout tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, L-Edit etc.

- Development experience on micron lens and color filter

- Strong research and analysis skill on handling measurement data, identifying problem and providing solutions.

- Hand-on experience on bench test and image sensor characterization. Familiar with image chip testing, such as, dark current, QE, lag, responsivity, conversion gain, and noise etc.
