Position Description:Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Development Geologist - West Texas Gas Operations located in Midland, Texas.Overview:The West Texas Gas Development Geologist is part of a multi-disciplinary field management team which includes production/operations engineering, reservoir engineering, earth science, field operations, land, facility engineering and drilling and completion engineering functions. The focus of this position is providing geological leadership and support for enhancing base production through sound asset, reservoir and wellbore management. The team is responsible for managing numerous oil and gas wells in primary production in the Chevron’s assets located in West Texas.Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Perform a variety of reservoir/field mapping functions. Integrate multiple vintages, types of well log data and production data. Identify opportunities for production enhancement. Develop and evaluate workover opportunities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience. Experience with development geology work processes Ability to integrate well and production data to evaluate reservoirs. Experience with reservoir management such as reservoir mapping and characterization. Experience with volumetrics, reserve and risk assessment. Experience with formation evaluation, planning for and managing reservoir surveillance programs on workovers. Ability to work in a cross-functional team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, reservoir management plans and workover proposals. Ability to perform reservoir risk assessments and assists with decision and economic analysis. General knowledge of project management concepts. Experience with Petra and/or Landmark products, Microsoft Office, Data management Tools, AMS, and Drilling Info. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or related discipline. Knowledge of seismic interpretation and earth modeling.
