Your Ingenuity is welcome!General Description: Performs varied modeling and detail assignments of an advanced technical nature requiring full use and application of design/drafting methods. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Assignments are in terms of objectives and relative priorities ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Prepares drawings of piece parts and assemblies involving selection of scales, dimensioning, detailed view, sectional views, orthographic projections from sketches, layouts or verbal instructions with no supervision. · Prepares layouts of piece parts, development, or complex assemblies with no supervision. · Utilizes CAD system (AutoCad, Inventor, Mapics, MS Excel, Word & Outlook) to prepare drawings, layouts and documents as related to job. · Prepares bills of material and prelists using computerized bill or material system. · Checks work of others that is similar in type and complexity to that which is personally performed. · Trains less experienced drafters in areas of technical and practical knowledge. · Establishes schedules to direct project requirements. · Explains drafting room procedures such as retrieving and applying information from drafting manual and purchasing and manufacturing specifications for preparation, release and revision of drawings. · Explains and uses codes or standards for design application and conformance as related to job: ANSI - Dimensioning and tolerance standards OSHA - Safety standards ISO 9000 · Explains manufacturing processes such as machine tool usage and limitations. · Explains airflow principles as related to job. · Reviews project order forms and requirements to assure conformance of design and fabrication of product. · Practical understanding of sheet metal forming procedures. · Practical understanding of screw and bolt assembly tolerances. · Performs manufacturing floor support with no supervision for own and others designs. · Demonstrates knowledge of trouble shooting methods to assist with assembly issues. · Provides support to marketing engineers for product design questions QUALIFICATIONS Requires an Associate's degree in Engineering or related science or equivalent and at least seven (7) years experience in related field. Must possess understanding of usage of some general business practices.
