Design Engineer - Body Systems

We are representing a world class OEM in this is exciting direct hire opportunity. The right indivdual will be involved in a groundfloor opportunity in the development of performance cars. Requires relocation near London, England.

 

Principal Duties:

Reporting to the Function Group Manager, working on all aspects of Body Systems delivery on future vehicle programs.

Responsibility for a selection of components such as body panels, closures, HVAC, lighting, exterior trim, Retractable hard top and glazing.

Working within a cross functional team to collectively deliver the whole vehicle specification targets.

 BIW and hardware packaging and concept studies including styling feasibility BIW design and detailing from prototype to production, meeting programme targets Liaison with other design departments, suppliers and prototype workshop Coordination of design activities carried out in-house and at suppliers Build support (prototype and production) Represent the department in design reviews and during test and development activities Design components to the lowest feasible weight

 Knowledge, skills and experience for positionBSME or equivalent 5 - 10 years automotive design and development Excellent systems design and development knowledge Experience of high and niche vehicle (low volume) programmes Good CATIA v5 user, comfortable with surfacing techniques, solid modelling and detailing Experience of CDM or VPM and DMU tools PC literate and at ease with MS Office products Experience of geometric tolerancing Experience of composite or aluminium component design is desirable
