We are seeking candidates for a great opportunity as a Deputy Project Manager to help lead, develop and grow the airspace and planning area of our Aviation practice. Responsibilities will also include helping to oversee aviation planning and engineering projects, supervise and mentor staff, to maintain relationships with key aviation clients, and to make sure key clients are having their needs met concerning all services provided by HNTB. The position has high potential for growth professionally in terms of leadership opportunity. This position is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will help oversee the airspace planning and aviation planning work performed under the direction of HNTB?s national director of airspace planning. You may also be asked to help direct and coordinate business development activities, and implement marketing strategies to ensure the growth of the airspace planning. You will promote the presence and image of this leading design firm in the marketplace consistent with the strategic communications plan and corporate objectives. Your specific responsibilities will include: -Lead staff and participate in complex airspace analysis involving FAR Part 77, TERPS surfaces and other important airspace dimensional surfaces, and more broadly aviation planning assignment. -Responsibility for project delivery and performance of assigned aviation staff, consistent with HNTB standards of performance and Vision. This includes management of project budget, quality, schedule and client satisfaction parameters. -Help analyze airspace and air traffic impacts/opportunities related to airfield improvements/changes based upon the requirements of the Air Traffic Control Handbook, and other local orders and operating requirements. -Participate in developing and reviewing computer simulations of airfield and/or airspace existing conditions and potential enhancements. -Participate in planning and design of airport NAVAID improvements, based upon current advisory circulars and orders for NAVAIDS, TERPS considerations, and ATC requirements. -Help maintain relationships with key aviation clients, and ensure all their needs are being met. Additional Secondary Responsibilities are as follows: -Assisting with development and implementation of strategies for airspace marketing efforts. -Accountability for the development and successful attainment of sales and marketing budget. -Help present appropriate marketing reports and recommendations to subsidiary management. -Target national and international associations, trade shows, etc. to help identify project leads and win work. -Maintain current knowledge of industry services, projects and trends. -Develop and implement effective and efficient sales methods. -Help maintain industry recognition through prominence in national client associations, monitor, analyze and report market sector marketing. -Sales and budget performance. -Developing strong client relationships to ensure a lasting partnership. QualificationsRequirements: The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master?s degree in Aviation, Airport Management, Engineering (Civil or Aeronautical), Planning, Program Management and a minimum of 10 years of experience. Prior experience as an air traffic controller is desirable. Pilot experience is desirable. Knowledge of FAA Part 77, TERPS surfaces, and other airport/airspace dimensional surfaces is essential. Experience with airfield and airspace computer simulation is highly desirable. Other requirements include: -Marketing- Successful background in development and implementation of airspace planning marketing strategies.-Business development - Prior track record of winning airspace design and planning projects. -Knowledge of TERPS surfaces and other airspace imaginary surfaces in addition to air traffic rules and procedures. ?Proven project delivery track record. -Candidate must have established relationships with aviation clients, such as FAA, airports and/or other transportation agencies. -Understanding of the federal procurement process and federal acquisition regulations is desired. -Active in relevant professional organizations/societies. -Good oral and written communications skills.-Ability to travel frequently.
