Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Controller Description: A large company in the Milwaukee area is looking for an experienced "Controller" to join their team! Main duties will be to: Enforce financial policy and controls. Assess with the CEO, the company’s working capital requirements for each year. Monitor it throughout the year on a monthly basis. Develop at the beginning of each year, one year income and expense, capital and personnel plans for the Department and related companies. Establish and improve policies, procedures, schedules and standards for the Department and sister Companies control departments, and recommendations for its units and services. Review monthly contract billings of each major branch and take necessary action where required. Reconcile the monthly Accounts Receivable, outgoing invoices and credit procedures. Take corrective action when required. Reconcile monthly Accounts Payable. Assess the performance of auditors and seek improvements for our company. Maintain internal auditing and reconciling procedures to insure uniform and consistent use of Company policies and procedures and the results as it relates to the clerical accounting through the company and related companies. Reconcile all major accounts monthly (labor, materials, draws, & partial billings, bank accounts, fixed assets, and inter-company accounts.) Review all other accounts monthly and reconcile accruals quarterly. Review yearly billing rates and cost rates and their preparation. Prepare monthly statements for meetings. Employ or promote and demote or discharge personnel, and employ or promote and demote or discharge officers within the Personnel Development procedures. Evaluate prospective purchase or disposition of capital assets and recommend to the President such expenditures. Secure the approval of the President for each acquisition or related group of acquisitions if the purchase price or total rent exceeds $10,000. Complete monthly written comments on company P&L, balance sheet changes and alerts with quarterly analysis of financial performance. Assess the quarterly financial statement, balance sheet, work in progress analysis and P&L and take action where required. Administer the Company’s investment portfolios and other outside investments. Sign checks, disbursements, notes on behalf of the Company, up to $50,000.
