Consumer Products Design Engineer needed
Our client is headquartered in Northern Henrico County, VA and is currently looking for a Product Design/Project Engineer. This company is a leading designer, marketer and distributor of small household and commercial appliances. This is a full-time, permanent career opportunity and salary is commensurate with experience. Our client also offers a comprehensive benefit package including relocation. At the upper level of experience, individuals may qualify for the bonus plan.
Responsibilities:
• In a very hands-on team environment, responsibilities include design, safety, reliability, & market competitiveness of small kitchen appliance type products.
• Will evaluate new technologies, provide technical expertise, develop product specifications, solve design & product performance issues & implement new products into production.
Requirements:
• BSME & at least 5 years of engineering experience in high volume, consumer oriented manufacturing firm required.
• Experience with design, mfg, & testing of kitchen appliance or related products is desired.
• Must have broad engineering principles knowledge, product development, project management, QC techniques, general electrical/electronics, plastic part & metal stamping design, & and manufacturing techniques.
• Previous career advancement & proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, & CAD (SolidWorks preferred) are necessary.
• Requires excellent communication skills, strong desire to lead/manage product development projects with Asian vendors, & the ability to adapt to changing markets.
