Component Engineer: PH 201494

- Project team support across commodities as the resident component expert- Part number alignment, Component vendor Qualification, Component Substitution, AVL standard parts definitions - Review Product (component) Change Notice from component vendors and manage the impact by working with Engineering & Manufacturing Management.- Support Supply Chain and Sustaining Engineering on locating second source components - sourcing & Approval Drive the 2nd source implementation - coordinating with Sourcing, Quality, and Engineering, - On released products, monitor & follow up on EOL components and component technology life cycles - Raise EOL issues/exposures at the proper forum such that it is resolved with minimum production / schedule impact Support analysis of ECO (cost, schedule, material, etc).- Support on analysis of production problems related suspected components - work with Supplier Quality, Sustaining & Design Engineers.- Participate in developing strategies to successfully manage electronic component obsolescence to minimize business risk.- Provide leadership in developing consistent standards for component management among all R&D and Operations Engineering groups.- Works in Product Lifecycle Management system (Agile) to enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information, updates approved vendor lists, reviews and approves Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).- Has intimate knowledge of electronic components and their applications to quickly evaluate the severity of EOL's and PCN's, and to evaluate potential alternates. Also is familiar with circuit design principles and board layout guidelines.- Builds effective teams with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering to find alternates for parts to maintain quality, strengthen the supply chain, and reduce costs. - In-depth knowledge and experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles as they apply to PCBA manufacture. - BSEE/MSEE or equivalent required - Knowledge of Product Governance and Compliance (Agile) & ROHS Compliance Management required.- Complete understanding/working knowledge of engineering documentation (i.e schematics, component data sheets, gerber files, etc) and standard document control practices (ECRs, ECOs, deviations, etc)- Capable of working cross functionally with multiple groups (procurement, product design, hardware, operations, quality, ODMs) to address all component issuesEmail your resumePlease click here,or copy and paste the following link into your email browser, to email your resume.
