Coastal Engineering Practice Builder
We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist in our San Francisco, CA office. This position would be responsible for managing and preparing environmental evaluations for airport improvement and development projects in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or state environmental regulations, coordinating client interactions and presentations, managing and preparing FAR Part 150 Studies, managing public involvement efforts, and managing and preparing specialized environmental studies in support of airport improvement or development projects (such as cultural resource investigations, air quality modeling, wetlands delineations, endangered species surveys, and compatible land use planning studies).
Requirements Requires an accredited Bachelors and Masters of Science or Arts degree in an environmental science, planning, engineering, or related curriculum. Requires 8+ years of prior work experience.
Preferred Qualifications 7 years of experience in aviation-related NEPA documentation Certification by a professional society or a state regulatory board in the discipline of practice is desired. These certifications or registrations may include but are not limited to American Institute of Certified Planners (A.I.C.P), Professional Geologist (P.G.), Professional Wetland Scientist (P.W.S.), Certified Environmental Professional (C.E.P.), Certified Ecologist (C.E.), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (C.H.M.M.) or Professional Engineer (PE – Environmental).
Senior Project Manager/Environmental Planner. This position is available in San Francisco, Oakland, and Petaluma office.
Manage and prepare CEQA/NEPA environmental documents, planning studies, develop and manage scopes, schedules and budgets; coordinate with appropriate stakeholders including client and regulatory agencies; and prepare proposals for and participate in interviews for prospective project work.
The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of consulting and/or public agency experience with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science planning, planning, urban planning, public policy, or related field (masters degree a plus!) along with experience managing and preparing environmental/planning studies and reports for small to large projects and have a comprehensive knowledge of the CEQA/NEPA processes. In addition the candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, be comfortable working in a deadline-oriented environment, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
