Michael Baker Jr. Inc., a division of Michael Baker Corporation seeks a Project Manager I or  II for our Houston, Texas office.

 

Responsibilities/ Description:  This position is responsible for supervising a team of water resources engineers, GIS specialists and/or CADD technicians responsible for the performance of engineering designs and/or studies related to hydrology, hydraulics, flood plain mapping, watershed planning, direction, and coordination of activities for successful completion of several concurrent projects to ensure that the goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.  Some travel is required.

 

Required:4 year degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 7 years of related experience in water resourcesLicensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain within 6 monthsExcellent written and verbal skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work independently, cognitive and problem solving skillsAbility to effectively convey highly technical information in a concise and understandable formatAbility to mentor others on technical proceduresPC experience with MS Windows and knowledge of HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and other hydrology or hydraulic modeling programsAbility to effectively work with external clients to ensure quality of product in conformance with project scope, budget and schedules.

Preferred:Previous experience with FEMA, TxDOT, Harris County, City of Houston procedures and manuals and specifications highly desiredPrevious experience with counties and cities within the greater Houston area is preferredTxDOT pre-certification in various engineering categoriesStrong business and/or business management skillsBusiness development experience a plus
