Civil/Structural Engineers - Experienced

Position Description:

This position offers you the opportunity to work with a diverse and highly qualified team of design and consulting professionals on a wide range of challenging and interesting projects. You will have responsibilities to coordinate and work directly on a multi-discipline engineering team to design new nuclear plant facilities as well as major modifications to existing nuclear power stations. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of activities, including preparation and review of engineering calculations, analysis, structural steel, concrete, foundations, component supports, and equipment anchorage design. You will interface with both clients and Sargent & Lundy management in the execution of your design activities. Additionally, opportunities exist for travel to plant site locations for field examinations and structural engineering evaluations.These opportunities are in downtown Chattanooga, TN.

Qualifications:

BS or MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with background in behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.Engineering experience working on power plant or industrial design and/or modification projects is required as well as experience with commercial analysis and design software such as STAAD, SAP, SAFE and Mathcad. Knowledge of steel and concrete design codes is also required.Good written and verbal communication skills are required along with computer proficiency. Willingness to travel to project sites is also necessary.
