CIVIL RAIL ENGINEER IIIDMJM Harris, Inc., a leading engineering, design, and construction management company currently has an opening for a Civil Rail Project Engineer in our Oakland or Sacramento, California office.We are seeking a CIVIL ENGINEER with 4 to 8 years experience in rail transit, commuter rail and/or railroad engineering.Candidate shall have experience in rail transit, commuter rail and/or railroad engineering. A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a rail transit related field is required. Knowledge of AREMA, FRA and AAR design criteria and best practices.  Candidate must be proficient in CADD design software. Requires hands-on experience in rail alignment and track layout design using AutoCAD and Civil3D or Microstation and Inroads programs to prepare detailed engineering designs and detailed contract plans for rail projects ranging from feasibility analysis to final design and construction.Must be able to work independently and in a team setting.  May be asked to prepare site plans, drainage, utilities, etc. for rapid transit and commuter rail stations, as well as, for highways and other major infrastructure projects.Good written and verbal communications skills are required.DMJM Harris is the flagship Transportation Company under AECOM, currently ranked Number #1 in Transportation and Highways (ENR 2006). We will provide the successful candidate exciting opportunities for career advancement.QualificationsAble to manage rail technical tasks and supervise junior engineers & CAD staff.
