Civil Designer / Senior CADD Designer

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. headquartered in Pittsburgh PA, currently has an opening in our Pittsburgh PA office for a Senior CADD Designer.

Assignments:
Can complete finished product with limited direction and limited cycles for corrections. Should have a level of experience that will allow them to assist an engineer in project decisions and have the work ethic that will drive a growing company in the area to success Understands and follows company standard CADD procedures for file naming, layering, plotting, etc., standard drawing procedures for sheet layout, and may be required to learn company design standards. Assures that accuracy, quality, completeness and adherence to the schedule can be independently maintained. Has responsibility to assure drawings are completed on schedule. Suggests and/or develops additions or proposes changes to the existing CADD library or recommends new methods and procedures for completion of drawings. Compiles all drawings to be included in any particular drawing package with assistance from the technical staff/manager in charge of the project. Is generally involved throughout a project but may become involved in a project at any stage of progress, as needed. Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and the calculation of quantities. May perform at times in a designer capacity. Edits word-processing documents and spreadsheets used in drawings and understand procedures for file saving, retrieving and transferring. Maintains neat and organized work area and computer files which allow efficient access to project information required by other team members. Will check drawings for quality assurance purposes. May be required to prepare design calculations, with direct supervision by qualified personnel.



Requirements
Associates or BS in Computer Aided Drafting, or relative degree. 8-10+ years of CADD experience. Civil 3D experience a plusExperience with commercial or residential design is highly desired (storm water, site grading, utility design for example) Autocad 2007 or Civil 3D experience preferred.
