CAD Technician

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician is responsible for translating jewelry manufacturing and aesthetic needs into systematic representation by utilizing Tiffany & Co. CAD systems and software.  This individual will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of electronic blueprints specific to the facility, provide ongoing blueprint support to New Product Engineering, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing.  Responsibilities include expediting tooling CAD design and development of new product tooling on tiffany CAD systems.  Generate tool paths to fabricate tools, dies, fixtures and other production aids in an efficient and timely manner to support manufacturing. Process and manage requests for drawing assistance with new products as well as other reference requests in a timely manner.  Provide two and three dimensional (2D/3D) technical drawings for New Product Engineering and the facility. Sample fabrication to support new product development using modeling tools for rapid prototyping to streamline design to production transition. Handle administration/operation of rapid prototype machine wax printer. Participate as a subject matter expert in new product/existing project teams.  Expedite other duties as required. 2-5 years Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience. Proficiency in CAD systems and equipment (Rhino, Solidworks, Adobe Illustrator) as well as measuring instruments. Strong written/verbal communication skills. Proficient PC skills - Microsoft Office Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Ability to work in a team environment.   Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or experience in related field. 3D modeling. Jeweler or small part manufacturing experience. JD Edwards of business system equivalent.
