BUILDING ENGINEER

 

JOB DESCRITPION:

 

Prominent Santa Monica based real estate development, investment and property management firm seeks a Building Engineer to handle building engineering and facilities maintenance services at a Class “A� office building in Burbank, California.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Perform repairs & maintenance on the building’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. 

Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.  This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights, etc.) and periodic testing of the equipment. 

Resolve tenant requests in the areas of safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and environmental needs through both personal contact and work order systems.

Obtain proposals and oversee work performed on building systems by outside vendors and contractors.

Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records.

Perform all assigned work so as to ensure the safety and comfort of the buildings’ tenants as well as the optimal operation of the site.

Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with site.

Cross-train on other company owned buildings to provide support to the engineering team.

Interface and work with others throughout the company.



REQUIREMENTS:

 High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 3 - 5 years previous building operations engineering experience.Working knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection and security systems.Customer service orientation with good communication skills.Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.General computer knowledge.Hold all necessary/required licenses.Clean DMV record.
