Job Title: BOD Equipment Engineer

Reference Number: 160735

Location: Harrodsburg, KY 40330

 

Responsibilities: 

- Provide 2nd level troubleshooting in support of the plant operations department. The plant  operates 24/7, 365 days per year. This position will require availability for after-hours call-in, shift work in support of Research and Development, and weekend team participation (8  week rotation).

- Represent the plant by interfacing with Research and Development teams from Corporate  Engineering working to develop the next generation of production machines and technology.

- This is in support of Harrodsburg’s Wingman strategy as both a manufacturing facility and a  developmental facility.

- Provide machine design oversight and ownership for BOD (Bottom of Draw) equipment. The  candidate will be responsible for resolving issues that result in recurring production loss,  correcting design issues, and providing requirements for machine rebuild/refurbishment.

- Additionally, there will be opportunities to participate in modifications for test or improvement to existing equipment.

- Make use of the DMAIC and LEAN methodologies to drive to problem resolution and  increased factory throughput.

- Travel domestically and internationally – less than 10%

Qualifications: 

 - Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required with Mechanical Engineering being the  preferred degree.

- 5 years of engineering experience is desired. Experience in ware-handling environment with  robotics is a plus.

- Project leadership skills are a must for this position. There will be opportunities for cradle to  grave implementations up to and including documentation and training. These skills will be  required when assisting the R&D groups.

- CAD skills with 3D modeling (AutoCAD and SolidWorks desired)

- Familiar with DMAIC and LEAN methodologies

 

Soft Skills:

- Self-motivated and autonomous

- Ability to lead others who are not subordinate

- Ability to get to root cause or needs
