The overall objective of this position is to design Point Eight Power’s automation and control systems. This responsibility includes developing PLC and HMI programs, communication networks and setting numerically controlled relays.

 

The key responsibilities of this position include: I/O assignment Developing and identifying automation hardware Developing and identifying communication interface and networks Setting numerically controlled relays and developing communication interfaces Develop Engine/Generator programmable controller programs Interact with Electrical Design Department to document automation system Incorporate and comply with applicable standards and specifications. Other duties as required by Electrical Engineering Department Manager.

 Requirements and Qualifications

 

Interpersonal Skills:  Good verbal and written communication skills

.



Intrapersonal Skills:  Detailed oriented.  Able to translate non-technical information into a  product meeting client and regulatory specifications.  Must have excellent time management skills to meet multiple and competing deadlines on simultaneous and multiple projects.  Self-motivated.



 

Technical Experience:  Knowledge in PLC and HMI programming.  Advanced to expert knowledge/experience in utilizing Microsoft Office Software.  Have knowledge in interfacing PLC equipment with devices from various vendors. 



 

Experience:  Familiar with Industry standards. Minimum 1-2 years experience in PLC/HMI programming.  Knowledge of engine/generator controls a plus.



 

Education:  High school diploma or GED equivalent. 



 

Other:  Willingness to travel to assist field service as needed.
