AeroMechanical Engineer I or IISimi Valley, CAJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Conducts general engineering and design of aircraft structures and aero-mechanical systems on small UAVs’.• Design aircraft tooling from component/subsystem specifications, development of manufacturing procedures for designed tooling and components and fabrication of tooling and components.• Develop SolidWorks drawings for components, use industry standards to generate drawings, and maintain detailed drawing trees.• Conduct engineering analysis and material selection required to size/design/layout components.• Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and vendors/suppliers in the design of tooling and components.• Use established engineering drawing configuration control systems.• Support flight test operations; some traveling may be required; write ground and flight test procedures.• Support design reviews, performs airplane performance analysis of designs.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:• A BS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Structural Engineering, or related field or equivalent is required; MS is a plus.• 3-8 years in Aerodynamics, Mechanical systems, material properties.• Hands on design experience is desired; UAV experience is a plus, especially small UAVs or R/C airplanes.• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software.• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills - Team Player.• Familiarity with composite aerospace structures design and manufacture is a plus. This position requires you have access to data and technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
