Michael Baker Jr., Inc. a top 40 Engineering News-Record (ENR) design firm is seeking a highway engineer for its Horsham (near Philadelphia), Pennsylvania office. Qualified candidates will have:
BS in Civil/Transportation Engineering with 5-7 years experience with highway engineering, geometric design, cost estimating, drainage design and PS&E plan development. Professional Engineer registration (P.E.) or the ability to obtain P.E. required. Computer skills needed include Microsoft Office plus experience with MicroStation, Inroads, ECMS, and Open Plan software.
Interested candidates should have the ability to perform under limited supervision. Highway engineering responsibilities include establishing design criteria, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway modeling, typical sections, cross sections and drainage layouts. Candidate must also be able to prepare detailed technical reports, develop construction cost estimates, prepare construction schedules, prepare specifications and coordinate and organize plan development. In addition, perform quality assurance and quality control plan checks as required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
