Work Control Manager
We are currently seeking a work control manager in our Nuclear Components Manufacturing group within our Nuclear Power Plants business unit. Based out of Newington, New Hampshire, the Nuclear Components Manufacturing plant manufactures specialty equipment for new nuclear power plants and major replacement projects.In this position, a work control manager can expect to perform the following duties:- Develops T-0 work scope and schedules for the assigned work weeks.- Coordinates with Project Engineers to ensure completeness of final work packages including completed Work Preparation Sheets.- Monitors the status of work package preparations and updates databases with latest information.- Confirms T-0 work scope is ready to work at the end of the scheduled freeze.- Provides work packages to Shop Supervisors/Leads for approved scopes.- Coordinates with Shop Supervisors for manpower availabilities to cover all shifts.- Coordinates all tasks within an assigned work week to resolve any conflict that may obstruct adherence to that weeks schedule. - Confirms internal and external resources are balanced against the required workload for T-0 week.- Reviews new CAPS for adequacy and potential impacts to plant or work week schedule. - Coordinates any scope changes with the other Work Week Managers ensuring optimum delivery, (i.e. resources, materials availability etc.).- Monitors resource utilization through execution phase and takes appropriate action as necessary.- Identifies and ensures the development of contingency plans and implements as needed.- Identifies and implements as necessary provisional work (i.e. fall-back or low priority work).- Works with Schedulers and Tech Support Coordinator to ensure accuracy of scope and schedule products.- Ensures emergent work is appropriately risk assessed, resourced and scheduled in T-0 for optimum delivery.- Chairs Work Week preparation meetings (T-Meetings).- Reviews shop feedback for completed work packages.- Provides update against the schedule to the daily meeting.- Closes orders in SAP. (TECO) ensuring historical information is included.- Collates all necessary information to support T+1 critique.- Identifies process breakdowns via CAPS..The successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and change management skills are required.- Candidates must understand all aspects of production control, scheduling and material flow from order entry to shipment. - Must possess a working knowledge of Primavera P3 scheduling tools or similar scheduling tools. - Must have a safe work record and understand a safe environment.
