Directs the activities of the Manufacturing production maintenance team. Is responsible for setting the goals and monitoring the performance of the team and it's members. Ensures efforts are directed towards process improvements, develops procedures and policies for assigned areas, and maintains compliance to safety policies and procedures. Responsible for cost and quality of those functions under their leadership. Promotes safety awareness, and teamwork. Supports short and long term goals consistent with the manufacturing management, production teams and company. Organizes and coordinates the activities involved to maintain and repair production equipment used in manufacturing processes. Ensures that equipment is maintained according to established standards. Advises employees of proper maintenance of equipment, facilitates the training for new mechanics and technicians, and further develops skills of current workers. Facilitates training for equipment operators in preventive maintenance procedures. Ensures that an adequate inventory of parts and supplies is maintained to enable timely maintenance. Skills typically acquired through an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field plus 2 - 3 years related experience or through a minimum of 5 - 6 years working in a related manufacturing capacity. Requires a working knowledge of the function and operation of production equipment.
