Trading Application Analyst

At Con Edison Energy, our business is marketing wholesale energy in the regional wholesale markets, managing the optimization of generation assets owned by third parties, and securing capacity and energy for retail sales by our affiliate, Con Ed Solutions.

We are seeking a Trading Applications Analyst with 2 or more years of experience, preferably within a trading, energy, natural gas or oil industry environment. The successful candidate should have a solid grasp of trading concepts for these types of products, combined with a financial background. Specific preferred technical experience should include at least one of the following: Allegro, Trading Systems such as Henwood Suite or PeopleSoft/Oracle Financials, or SQL Database. In addition, we seek an individual who has had an active and on-going role with direct interaction with internal customers.

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

* Provides primary support and troubleshooting for energy trading and risk applications

* Develop and improve business processes surrounding energy trading and risk control activities

* Primary interface with application vendors; ensure that vendors are meeting business requirements

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Modifies existing software and report to fit specialized needs of customer

* Provides primary end-user support

* Tests and debugs trading application issues

* Configures and maintains program libraries, media, and technical documentation

* Configures trading application systems

* Installs software on server and client machines

EDUCATION:

* BS or BA degree in Computer Science or related experience

SKILLS:

* Strong knowledge of technical ISO requirements for electrical data exchange

* Understanding of energy trading, VAR, Mark to Market accounting, and Credit Risk Management

* Ability to resolve complex problems

EXPERIENCE:

* Two (2) years or more of experience
