Tech Support Specialist #0428
The Tech Support Specialist will report to the Help Desk Manager in the Information Technology Department at General Office in San Jose, CA. The candidate will support end-user desktop computer hardware and software.
Qualifications: Associates degree in Computer Science or related major, or equivalent experience is required. BA/BS preferred Experience with Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office and Outlook Familiar with Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory Ability to troubleshoot problems from start to end Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team Excellent verbal and written skills Attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude
Primary Responsibilities:Communication with employees (emails, documentation, presentations, etc.) Phone support Desktop support Managing and utilizing the Help Center ticketing system Managing and utilizing the IS network hardware inventory database Carrying out security procedures Patching security vulnerabilities Building PCs Troubleshooting hardware and software issues Monitoring event logs Special projects; i.e. annual PC replacement, laptop encryption, etc. Other tasks as assigned
