Supplier Quality Engineer (Castings)

JOB PURPOSE: Duties of the position will include but not limited to the principles of product quality, on time delivery, process improvement, assessment and control at the supplier site. This person must be able to work independently, possibly over see the activities of others and make decisions as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* Develop, and lead, supplier quality improvement programs.* Perform process audits and inspections at supplier location.* Review inspection data, release via the quality inspection reporting approval process.* Disposition all non conforming product via the non conforming material process including CAPA - corrective action/preventative actions as required* Develop, implement, update, and review appropriate quality metrics.* Provide design improvement feedback to engineering department* Share lessons learned with suppliers to improve quality and delivery from first articles to regular production cycle. * Provide regular status reports to Clipper management regarding quality and delivery.* Ensure suppliers are capable to supply parts to engineering and quality specifications.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A successful candidate for this position must have these skills/experiences:* BS in Engineering, or business, and 2 years of experience, or 10 years relevant experience in manufacturing, castings and quality.* Experience utilizing process improvement and process capability techniques, within a manufacturing environment.* Experience with all the different aspects of the foundry industry, various inspection methodologies and various quality measuring equipment, * Excellent communication and team work skills with internal and external customers and suppliers* Familiar with ISO9001 standards* Supplier evaluation experience.* Knowledge of ANSI Y14, AWS D1.1 standards, NDT, Metallurgical testing and Mechanical testing of castings.* Familiar with the various DIN and EN requirements for both gray and ductile iron.Preferred skills/experience:* Windpower knowledge.* Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, fit analysis related to castings and machining.* Design and / or manufacturing background.* Six Sigma and Gage R&R techniques* Statistical Process Control.* Level I or Level II NDT Technician.ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:*Moderate noise, dust/dirt (Example: when visiting different casting vendors production facilities or inspecting castings at different vendor's shops) Travel up to 70% For Casting SQE in Asia, they should be fluent in Korean and Mandarin     Company: Clipper Wind Power Location: OH 44101 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Quality Assurance/Safety Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Occupations: Production Quality Assurance Industry: Energy and Utilities Company: Clipper Wind Power Address: Cleveland, OH 44101 Reference Code: 229326MON
