Strategic Purchasing Manager - Call 866-538-2606Description: This is an outstanding Direct Hire position that requires a self-motivated professional, with strong analytic purchasing experience and a strategic approach to all activities.Our client is located in Southeast Ohio and is selectively looking for candidates with proven success, for consideration of their newly created Purchasing Manager position. In this role, the successful candidate will oversee the purchasing strategy of domestic and global purchasing, manage all suppliers and product purchases and benchmark competitive market prices. In following the company's global purchasing vision, you will lead successful negotiations with suppliers in regard to pricing, terms, conditions, supplier and product performance and implement cost saving strategies while maintaining or improving product standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include: Purchasing Strategy: Responsible for the purchasing of technological items (compare items currently utilized versus new suppliers). Participate in the technological development of its family (or families) standardization. Establish the purchasing policy for the purchasing families. Responsible for the definition/ranking of the suppliers panel and for the identification (with the users of the best suppliers for the group) Define the purchasing strategy in relation to the users and the company's global strategy Benchmark market prices and inform the internal customer about market evolutionCommitment with suppliers: Propose technical direction to the suppliers to improve performance. Launch RFQ's for Group Frame Agreements, compare the quotes and negotiate with suppliers Set up Group Frame Agreements and performance objectives with suppliers Participate in the supplier selection process and perform risk analysis Main purchasing representative for the Group in front of each related supplierDirecting suppliers performance: Measure, consolidate and analyze the suppliers performance with regard to contract provisions Launch purchasing progress actions at the Group level in collaboration with the business Manage the supplier portfolio and the relationship with the supplier(follow up, progress plan, etc.)Direct the purchasing family (or families): Control the use of the Group Frame Agreement of each Business Unit (market share, price, etc.) Control the use of the purchasing procedures in the Business Units (local contracts set up by local buyers). Control the progress of the cost reduction plan for the purchasing families.Communication and internal control: Circulate the purchasing procedures, sharing of best practices for products/services, sharing the knowledge of suppliers. Promote the use of selected tools and new purchasing process. Communicate results to management of the contracts at the Group level. Communicate market intelligence to user and/or local buyer. Main purchasing representative for the Group in front of each related supplier. Continuously track the dynamics of the buyers network and promote the company image This opportunity is located in the Salem/Canton Ohio area and offers a very competitive salary and benefit package for the qualified candidate!
