Strategic Commodity Specialist

- Demonstrate leadership qualities by facilitating commodity teams and a supplier scorecard process.
- Develop comprehensive strategies that support Dresser-Rand’s business objectives
- Responsible for collecting reporting scorecard data, savings, spend, quality Etc.
- Visit suppliers as necessary to analyze facilities and processes, negotiate pricing, quality, and lead-times, which lead to maintaining effective long-term supplier relationships
- Interface with various functional areas such as Engineering, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, etc in order to resolve problems associated in the Machining Commodity
- Assist the Global Commodity Managers and Director of Strategic Commodity Management in rationalization and reduction of the supply base along with development and implementation of Standard Work Practices
- Keep current with market conditions of commodities and apply that data appropriately to negotiations with suppliers that will lead to long term agreements. Assist Global Commodity Manager with negotiations planning and discussions with suppliers.
- Responsible for Global Strategic Sourcing for Machining, Fabrications and Outside Processing
 Use RFx methodology to select new strategic suppliers
 Develop and implement scoring methods (pricing/business alignment matrix) to accurately assess new suppliers strategic alignment within Dresser-Rand’s business environment

- Advanced skills is Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of sourcing processes
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
- Long Term Contract experience
- Low Cost Country Sourcing experience
- Financial analysis
- Leader, self starter
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization
- Strong communication skills and relationship building ability
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Foreign Language Skills are a plus
- Data Analysis
- Change Management
- Lean/Six Sigma
- ISM or APICS Certified

Knowledge:
Knowledge of oil and gas industry. Experience with heavy manufacturing / engineered-to-order products, machining commodity a plus.

- BA/BS- in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or working towards an advanced degree is desirable
- Minimum 2-3 years experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, Technical Machining or similar function with proven track record of results
- US Citizen
