Strategic Commodity Leader - Composites
A Strategic Commodity Leader is required to develop and deploy global procurement supply chain strategies. Strategies must achieve the cost, quality, delivery and technology requirements in support of Clipper product and manufacturing goals, and ensure global opportunity and leverage is harnessed. The Strategic Commodity Leader is expected to lead many of the activities of the Supplier Management Team, which, as a whole, will include: 1. Development and deployment of Clipper global sourcing strategy2. Selection of candidate suppliers3. Qualification of suppliers4. Contractual negotiations5. Buying components6. Assuring and controlling deliveries7. Periodic supplier assessment.8. Benchmarking suppliers / marketIn addition to functional accountability the role will also report to the Director, Strategic Sourcing. Key focus will be placed on: Global Strategy development and buy-off using purchase and contract review board process; develop and deploy procurement processes within Clipper Procurement team. Individual is expected to monitor and communicate market trends and conditions. This is a demanding role for a procurement professional seeking a role with true global perspective who has a demonstrated track record of Strategic sourcing, innovation, complex negotiation and employing procurement tools.It is preferred that the candidate has knowledge of the Wind Energy industry, as well as the Composites market and its supply base in general, and rotor blades in particular. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business or supply chain or related field; MBA preferred; purchasing certification desired. Minimum 5 yrs experience in strategic procurement, preferably with large production components. Self-starter able to work as team member and team leader, able to achieve objectives and maintain flexibility in approach.
