Nicor Gas is one of the nation's largest gas distribution companies. Owned by Nicor, Inc., (NYSE: GAS) a holding company, Nicor Gas has provided safe, reliable and cost-effective natural gas services for 50 years. The company serves more than two million customers in a service territory that encompasses most of the northern third of Illinois, excluding the city of Chicago. The Sr. Supplier Diversity Administrator is responsible for the development, execution and administration of Nicor Gas' supplier diversity objectives. This position works closely with executives, manager and employees to recruit, educate and engage employees in Nicor Gas' strategic vision. This position is for a leader who can drive the company's vision within and outside the company, with a focus on results.

Position Responsibilities:
* Primary company representative and spokesperson for developing relationships throughout the MWBE community
* Responsible for proactively sourcing qualified vendors in support of the company's Supplier Diversity initiative and to ensure equal opportunity and equal access to purchasing opportunities
* Purchasing responsibilities that are consistent with Procurement objectives, including leading strategic sourcing initiatives
* Development of a supplier diversity strategic plan and key performance indicators

Required Degree(s), Experience and Skills:
* Bachelors Degree
* 6 plus years of experience
* MS Office skills

Preferred Degree(s), Experience and Skills:
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, oral presentation skills
* Lawson a plus
* Knowledge of supplier diversity best practices
* Strategic sourcing skills and experience and an ability to measure and set short and long-term diversity goals
