Sr. Patent Administrative Assistant
Division: Administrative/Clerical Responsibilities: You will be responsible for preparing patent related documents, drawings, and forms; filing and supporting the prosecution for US, PCT and foreign patent applications; managing attorney dockets; providing support of IP transactions including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), licenses, development and test agreements, etc.; providing support of patent oppositions, patent litigations, validity and patentability opinions, and other IP contentious matters as required; working with support staff team as well as vendors, foreign patent agents and USPTO representatives to identify and resolve patent related issues; communicating and interfacing with Praxair clients, inventor, and IP portfolio managers; entering and retrieving data from intellectual asset management (IAM) databases; managing all related physical and electronic files; providing other administrative support to the assigned IP attorneys; preparing travel arrangements and expense reports; scheduling meetings, managing calendars, as well as providing telephone and email coverage, as requested; providing general mail and correspondence support; providing back-up support of other IP attorneys and paralegals, as needed; and other duties as assigned. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.; overtime as required. Qualifications:To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma, 3 years U.S. Patent legal administrative assistant experience, knowledge of Patent Docketing database and strong computer skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of US patent rules, regulations and use of USPTO forms, basic knowledge of PCT and selected foreign patent rules, regulations and patent annuities, and excellent communication skills, particularly suited for client and foreign agent interface. An Associate’s Degree, being highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, being innovative and showing a high degree of initiative is preferred. Acting as a team player, maintaining a good work ethic with demonstrated solid technical/professional knowledge and the ability to multi-task, independently prioritize tasks and demonstrate a sense of urgency is also preferred.
