The Sr. Organizational Development Consultant will work closely with the Director, Organizational Development and other HR resources to identify, develop, and implement strategic OD initiatives that enhance performance, productivity, and employee engagement levels. This individual is an internal consultant who understands the business and can assess needs in order to design and deliver practical business solutions with measurable results. This includes working with individuals, teams, functional units, and the organization as a whole to facilitate change and increase effectiveness.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, implement and evaluate performance management systems, competency-based systems, employee engagement surveys, selection and orientation processes and other human capital processes

· Design and provide services which enable work groups and teams to successfully initiate and manage organizational change and enhance performance, including work redesign; process mapping; organizational design; team building; conflict resolution; etc.

· Lead and/or consult with individuals and teams on organization-wide change efforts

· Provide coaching to managers and leaders to improve their performance

· Conduct needs analysis and recommends practical application business solutions

· Design and facilitate small and large group interventions, per assessed needs

· Research and recommend leadership and management development strategies; partner with internal and external resources on the design, development and delivery initiatives

· Identify new learning methodologies e.g., e-learning, simulations, assessment centers; recommend enhancements that fit the Nicor culture

 

Requirements:

· Six or more years’ experience as an internal OD consultant with heavy Change Management and Learning and Development experience 

· Strong understanding of OD theory and application, with an emphasis on practical application

· Specific knowledge of current practices in Change Management; Organization Design; competency-based talent development systems and processes; culture change; needs analysis and team interventions

· Proven success at building credibility quickly at all levels of the organization

· A successful track record of effectively solving significant business problems

· Advanced facilitation skills coupled with exceptional listening skills; strong oral and written communication skills; organizational and project management skills

· Fundamental knowledge of human resources concepts

· Experience working with management through the executive level in a corporate business environment

· Demonstrated success at project leadership, management and program implementation

· Comfortable with working in a variety of roles and modes, including tactical as well as  strategic

· Experience in a union environment preferred



Education:

· Bachelors degree in OD, Human Resources, I/O Psychology, or related business degree required

· Masters degree in OD, I/O Psychology, Organization Behavior or MBA preferred
