Sr. Manager, Internal Communications

Internal Communications is a dedicated group in the Corporate Relations function that provides strategic employee communications support on projects aligned with top business priorities for the purpose of increasing employee engagement.  Responsibilities:  Communications Oversight. Leadership Communications: Leads and manages Leadership communications events, initiatives and programs. Work with the leadership communications colleagues to develop consistent messaging for senior leaders, including CEO and COO. Collaborates with and obtains input from senior leaders on the development of internal communications strategies for leadership events and programs. Provides employee communications best practices counsel to business leaders. Serves as trusted partner to executives, providing counsel on emerging issues.   Business Line Communications Support:  Provides strategic counsel and communications support to key lines of business, working directly with Senior Vice Presidents and their leadership teams. Develop communications assessment and strategies that help to drive operational performance. Lead and execute plans that deliver audience focused messaging through targeted and relevant media.   General Communications Counsel:  Provide strategic level communications counsel and support to Director of Internal Communications and Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations to develop effective communications programs that drive line of sight for all employees. Accountable for the development and execution of internal communications strategy, including relevant message development, and communications execution. Ensures that internal communications programs are fully integrated and aligned with key internal and external communications partners, including: news, customer communications, regulatory relations, government relations, and public affairs in support of broad organizational and functional business goals. Represents the internal communications function in crisis and emergency response situations, serving on the company's formal emergency response team (which activates primarily during major operational events and storms or natural disasters). Defines and utilizes communications measures and metrics to monitor performance objectives.   Communications Team Management and Leadership:  Provides individual performance management, coaching, development and motivation to employees and others on his/her team. Oversees the staffing, planning and budgeting for internal communications activities and ensures all efforts are delivered on time and within budget. Measures effectiveness and impact of leadership communication activities and refines programs to drive performance. Required: ·         Bachelor's degree or advance degree in Communications, Journalism or related·         8-10 years of corporate communications experience required·         Experience counseling and coaching executives, managers and colleagues·         3-5 years of supervisory experience required·         Experience planning and managing budgets·         Reflects emotional intelligence and poise to work with executive leadership·         Synthesizes business issues to drive effective communications campaigns   Equal Employment Opportunity, M/F/D/V.
