Sourcing Specialist
Position Purpose:
The Sourcing Specialist is primary responsibility for strategic sourcing activities and supplier development for his/her assigned portfolio. He/She defines and optimizes the supply chain structure in order to maximize supplier performance (cost, quality, lead time) and support the business operating plan (IBT, on-time delivery etc).
Key Functions:
Develops and implements sourcing strategies with the goal of assuring quality and delivery performance while minimizing the total cost.Capture and addresses supply chain constraints such as capacity, pricing, IP protection, single sourcing, exclusivity etc.Manages risk to the supply chain such as single-sourced parts, supplier solvency etc. Flags gaps such as incomplete sourcing specs for OEM parts, dated drawings, part phase out by supplier, and works with Engineering/Sustaining to resolve these issues. Supports key initiatives such as Global Sourcing, Supplier Rationalization etc.Conducts the RFI/RFQ/RFP as part of supplier selection process Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers with the objective of optimizing quality, delivery and cost. Participates in the selection and management of a high-performance supply base for assigned portfolio.Participates in the Evaluation of current and prospective suppliers using methods such as supplier reviews, site visits and audits. These techniques are used to determine supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality and service.Effectively communicates with and maintains the highest degree of relations between the Company and all levels of supplier personnel.Complies with applicable company policies including personnel and QHSE.
